LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A Nebraska Athletics spokesperson announced on Friday that volleyball star Harper Murray was suspended and will not be playing in Saturday’s spring match, following a DUI citation in April.

Meanwhile, the University said they were also gathering more information on a Lincoln Police Incident report about a shoplifting at Scheels in Lincoln on Thursday, which social media posts have linked to Murray. According to that incident report, five rings with a value of $12.99 each were shoplifted from Scheel’s Thursday evening. Social media posts circulating Thursday appeared to show security images of Murray and claimed she was responsible for the shoplifting. Lincoln Police told 10/11 Friday that no citation had yet been issued in the case, and did not provide the suspect’s name.

Nebraska Volleyball faces Denver University in an exhibition on Saturday, May 4, at 2 p.m. CT. on the campus of the University of Nebraska Kearney.

On April 5, Murray was cited on suspicion of DUI. A breath test at the time registered her BAC at 0.169. Murray was also found to be in possession of a fake ID. LPD said she also did not comply with multiple officer directives during the investigation.

Murray’s court appearance for the DUI charge is set for May 8.
